30 Day Challenge - Day 17

Today was another day of rest. I still had to go and do a bit of a workout though. I did not do a 30 Day workout, but just the fun little workout that the girls and I put together the first week of the challenge. Wow that was over two weeks ago! I can't believe that we are more than 1/2 way though the challenge.

Wordless Wednesday - Batter up!

"Your persistence with pushing the limits is really impressive!"
Today seemed like a relatively short workout. It was over before I knew it, which is good because it was FILLED with squats. I am not a fan of squats, they hurt. I did them of course, but I didn't enjoy it. What I did like was today started out with dancing and ended with dancing. I really liked that. Another thing that made today's workout great was baseball. I got to catch, throw and hit. They even had items that had to be aimed and thrown at to knock them down, much like a carnival game. I was worried about how today would be after the video that ended yesterday's workout but it was not complicated or hard at all.

Not Me Monday - #2

Today I did not spend all day in my PJ's because I had a massive headache that did not want to go away. I did not keep the baby in her PJ's all day either. I did not take my older kids to the pool so that I could get just a few minutes of bicker free afternoon and then pick them up - still in my PJ's and go into the grocery store and buy items for dinner.

I didn't draw a heart on the baby's hand to keep her occupied for a few minutes so that she would stop trying to climb me like a ladder using my hair as the upper rungs. She did not sit there for the next fifteen minutes saying "pretty" over and over while pointing at said heart, completely melting mine.

Oh yeah! Oh yeah! Half way there baby! Earned me a sweet little trophy to commemorate the occasion. I must say that after having yesterday off I was not ready for today's workout. The boxing exercise was a killer today and really have my arms burning. I know it seems like I complain a lot about the burn, I just have to clarify that I am not complaining just expressing how the workout made me feel. I actually enjoy the burn, it lets me know that I am doing something and that the workouts are doing something as well. Many times after using Wii Fit, I didn't feel like it had done anything. This has yet to be the case with EA Sports Active!

After my workout today, a video of Bob Greene played warning us of the workouts to come. I must say that I am a bit scared. The workouts now have me sufficiently tuckered out and now to hear that he is stepping up! Oh my! The video showed heel lifts during the squats......what?! I'm sure the next 15 posts will be fun reads!

Today was a rest day. I am still trying to figure out how to change my avatar's clothes. Ok, I figured it out. You click on "edit fitness profile" then click next through the steps until you get to the clothing. There are about 20 different outfits to choose from, right now my Active avatar is wearing a hip little purple track suit. Much better than the drab capris and bland white shirt she was sporting earlier!

"Your intensity is really paying off!" Did I say how I love this trainer? Well I do! She is very encouraging and gives me that extra bit to push myself and lets me know when I should step it up. Today was our first at passing in basketball. That was interesting, I like how there is a video before every exercise to let me know exactly what to do and how to do it. Not that the basketball passing was all that hard but I like to be sure I'm not doing anything wrong. I am with this to be fit, not to injure myself. One killer bit from today was the squat hold, for 18 seconds I had to stay in a squat, not once but twice! I know it doesn't sound like a lot, but try it, it is a lot harder then it seems.

Two weeks down, two to go!

1. I grew up thinking that if I jumped from my doorway to my bed, the monsters underneath couldn't get me.

2. http://fridayfillins.blogspot.com/was the last website I was at before coming here.

4. Warm bath and a good book helps me relax.

Today was a fun and challenging workout. It really got me moving. It started out with the intermidiate dance (got to raise the roof WOOT WOOT!) and had some side jumps, rollerblading and a crap-ton of rows. My arms are like jello but it's so worth it! I am really getting into this and having a lot of fun doing it.

Check out my trophies, uh huh that's right. There's 13 there! I earned every one of them too. I am quite proud of my 1000 calorie burner award (secod blue one on the bottom).
