What we've been up to.

It was an overcast day Monday, but not that hot. The kids were going stir crazy so while Kira napped we went to the zoo and walked around for a bit. Kali is trying to catch a butterfly in the butterfly pavilion. When we got back Kira looked like this :(. Her fever was no longer being controlled with either motrin or tylanol. It was too late to be seen by the regular dr so we headed out to the urgent care center. By the time we got there the rash that you see in the pic above was on her scalp, chest, back and diaper area. It started on her face and worked down. They checked her over and due to the rash did a strep test. She had strep and is doing SOOO much better now! The fever is gone and the rash is nearly gone as well after only two full days on antibiotics.
From Mon to Wed Jake had wrestling camp. This was his first year and he really enjoyed it. It was neat to watch him grow over the past few days. He is just around girls too much, it sure didn't take him long to get all rough and tumbly with the rest of these boys though!
Showing off his muscles.
Taking down a boy, about to pin him.
Here is the group of boys (and one girl) ranging in age from Pre-K to entering 8th grade. Jake is bottom center doing moose ears.

Glad to hear the baby is better. I had no idea you could get a rash with strep. Your duaghter chasing the butterfly was cute!! Your son looks like he is having fun wrestling.

Poor baby! It's actually considered Scarlet Fever when you get the rash with strep, isn't it? I got it once, I thought that's what my mom told me.

So good to hear your little one is doing better!

great photo of your daughter and the butterfly hunt :o)

and how fun for your son at wrestling camp... our son wrestled in high school and loved it (I would go to his meets, but would watch with one eye open!)

...why do boys love the rough stuff? ie, football, lacrosse, rugby, martial arts, wrestling, etc? He was in all these and even soccer had some "brutal" encounters!
